Hey, guys.

You remember how we were shown White!Alice asking Break to do something for her, but not what that something was?

And you know how this series is called PANDORA Hearts? As in, Pandora's box?

Look at Break's pupil- see anything weird? Here's a hint: it's freaking square.

Even though White!Alice's voice cut out at the last second, I think we were still given a clue as to what she wanted from Break. I think it's whatever it is that's reflected in his eye.

So the question then would be- what's the reflection showing? The first and most obvious connection is to go from square -> box -> some kind of literal Pandora's Box. Even in one of Glen's speeches we're shown an actual box, though I'll be damned if I can figure out what the hell he's trying to say. :/

Another interpretation that I think is likely is that it's a far view of a table with a (possibly bloodstained) knife on it. Which would make sense if Gil was the one that killed Human!Alice, something that was hinted at in the latest chapters.

Or it could be something else that I can't think of right now. XD

But however you interpret that image, it has to have something to do with Break's stated goal of 'finding out what happened a hundred years ago.' I just wonder if what White!Alice originally asked wasn't a bit more specific than what Break has told us so far, which, you have to admit, would be very like him.

This is a problem I have- I post conclusions that make total sense to me, but then I always forget to show my work. XD XD XD

Okay, so. Up until a few chapters ago, the leading theory was that Vincent killed Alice since we've seen him with the scissors in the hallway at Sabrie, running to Alice's tower after, and then when we see Alice's body, the scissors are next to her, bloodstained, looking like a murder weapon.

But in the last few chapters we've see more and more of Gil's memories resurfacing. And every time, we're shown Gil holding a knife.

Gil with a knife:

Remember Gil's mantra of 'I'll kill anyone who hurts my master!'? Well, Jack looks pretty hurt there. So who did Gil blame for this outcome... ?

Oh look, here's Gil pointing a knife:

But why would Gil do that to Alice? It's not like he has a history of hostility with her or anything...

I'm pretty sure there's one more image of Gil with a knife, but I can't find it right now, will keep looking. :X

So in my head, this has kind of turned into a game of Clue. The scissors are highly associated with Vincent- he still uses them to cut up dolls in the future and even the cover art has an faded image of his scissors in his background (Oz has the pocket watch, Cheshire has the ripped up memories, Jack has the Abyss ripples, etc). So if Alice was indeed killed by being stabbed with the scissors- since it does look like she was stabbed- then it is highly likely that the one who killed her was Vincent. But if she was stabbed with a knife...

But here's the problem. We've got all of these flashbacks, but we have no clue what order they actually happened in. The only thing we know for sure is that Alice died sometime within the timeframe of the Tragedy. We were told that Gil had died (apparently not, which means Alice was lying), and that Jack had died fighting Glen (again, apparently not, since he was around to seal Glen's soul after the fight, which means that Vincent was lying), and that Glen is still alive (for some strange definition of 'alive.') There have been a ton of fakeouts so far, with Jack's and Gil's bodies lying bloodstained on the floor, despite the fact that they both seemed to survive the night. Mind you, this doesn't mean that no one thought they were dead and acted on what they thought they saw, as Vincent did seems to have with opening the door.

And speaking of Vincent- I really am approaching this series as a mystery that's unfolding and in mysteries, the person who you think is the killer at the half way mark? Ain't the killer. I know that's a really flimsy foundation to think that Vincent wasn't necessarily the one who killed Alice, but it gives me enough reason to suspect we haven't seen everything yet. Hence, the knife. If it's a knife and not just a box. XD

aaaand I'm an idiot who blabbed on and on and didn't answer your question. D:

Why would Alice show this to Break? I honestly have no clue. XD

If it's the knife, maybe what she wants Break to find out is something involving how she died. If it's the box, then it's something that transcends anything we know so far and there's no way I can make anything other than a wild guess. XD

You've got a good point, the reflection could be the result of memories White!Alice 'gave' to Break. And if they are, then it makes what Break said after Cheshire's place, that all wasn't for loss because just the experience helped him 'remember' a few things, all the more interesting in hindsight. We haven't been able to hear or clearly see what it was that White!Alice wanted, but I wonder if Break knows by now and is just keeping his cards close to his chest.

Haha, I understood the Gil part, but the fact that you went into sooo much detail just makes it all the more believeable. thank you.

I really don't much care for these "bluffs", honestly. I feel like they're all cheap tricks. I feel like instead of really learning the "truth" we're ust learning someone lied. *sigh* Only more questions arise.

Of course, on the other hand, ph wouldn't be nearly as fun, either. <3
