Haha, I love that Naruto's first reaction when he saw the 4th Hokage (after the shock) was to hit him. XD And I also love his, "How can I do it?!?! I'm stupid! And not a good ninja-!" The 4th seemed a bit too tritw, I wish we had gotten more personality from him.
And I still can't get over the fact that they freaking killed off Kakashi wtf. And that Hinata was basically used as a Girl in a Fridge, they couldn't even have her do ANYTHING useful. And where the hell is Sasuke? *grumps*
So how about this: Yuuko takes S&S in a Tube and protects them. She is given the Tube by Touya and Yukito.
Yuuko never does anything without a price.
So was the price filled by S&S's sacrifice? Or did Touya and Yukito have to pay the price for Yuuko to keep the Tube and protect it? Could that price have been their connection to Watanuki? Might explain why they've never showed up around the boy (as far as we know).
Though I would LOVE to know how it was that Watanuki gave up his memories TO YUUKO before the story even started. How did he know about her? Someone had to have told him about her, and it kinda makes sense that it would have been, if not his parents, then Touya and Yukito. idek
Unsubstantiated theory is unsubstantiated, but it keeps me entertained. :D
TFirs thing that struck out- the animation isn't as good as Holics. Which kinda sucks, since I would have liked to have better animation for the OAD with the fight scenes.
Speaking of the fight scenes. That one part with the impailing shadow things and Syaoran's eyes rolling was creepy. I don't know why, but that image disturbed me, probably because I didn't expect it in the context of Tsubasa/Holic.
Looks like both OADs are going to directly crossover with each other during the dream sequence.
I've said it before, but these OADs look like they're gonna have serious depressing endings. For Tsubasa, it's the death of Sakura by the hands of Syaoran 2. For Holic is might be more subtle. Watanuki has his existential crisis, ending with crying in Yuuko's arms. But the upturn of that situation is his determination to go save Kohane, no matter if he 'exists' or not. But Kohane has already been saved in the OAD! I suppose we could get the conversation with Doumeki, where he says something like, "as long as people remember me and care about me, I'll try to exist, no matter what." Guess we'll see.

Date: 2009-03-19 10:58 pm (UTC)Noooo ;_;Touya and Yukito paying by giving up their connection to Watanuki is one of the few possible reasons that I can imagine that would explain why they haven't appeared yet in Holic. I wonder about the rest of the CCS cast though; could they have been forced to refrain from interfering in some way too? I just can't imagine them letting all this happen if there was anything they could do to help.
I really hope that Watanuki saying the lines about wanting to exist will be animated! They changed that scene in the first part, so perhaps that means that they're saving it for later. It would fit well for an ending too (though that depends on how much they decide to change the story, I suppose).

Date: 2009-04-14 12:35 pm (UTC)I kinda took it at face value. :( But maybe there's hope! He was not dismembered!
(and I'm still of the opinion that Madera/Tobi is using Obito's body, and that reveal would have more of a punch if Kakashi were alive to see/confirm it. But maybe I'm wrong.)
On Touya and Yukito- totally agree. Though recent chapters in Tsubasa may have cleared this mess up a bit. CCS isn't as tied into the story as we were meant to believe, apparently.
On Watanuki- oh, that would be perfect! Like book ends. :D Start with a touching conversation with Doumeki, end with a touching conversation with Doumeki. My heart would be glad.
I can't believe we have to wait so long for the second half to come out... *grumbles*

Date: 2009-04-14 03:50 pm (UTC)Yeah, I'm actually rather relieved that CCS wasn't as closely connected to TRC as we thought. It was mean to give us that impression though, CLAMP. <_< Though I suppose that it partly was the fans (me included) who were too quick to jump to conclusions.

Date: 2009-04-16 04:05 pm (UTC)Haha, I gotta admit, I'm bad about reading Naruto. I haven't read it straight through, or even watched it straight through. I just pick up bits and pieces when the fancy hits. ^_^ Though the last chapters were certainly exciting. I'm wondering when Sasuke is gonna show up again?
On CCS- damn, that really was a mind bender/twist/roller coaster. :/ And I really think we were meant to jump to those conclusions. It made sense! (sort of)

Date: 2009-04-17 07:18 am (UTC)And yeah, I wonder what Sasuke's doing too. It felt like the last arc with him went on forever but now I'm starting to miss him.
It did. :| But then again, "makes sense" probably shouldn't be taken as evidence for anything when CLAMP are involved...
