So this is my problem with American comics.

I can not stand the overuse of emphasis in speech bubbles. Every time someone talks, I feel like William Shatner is speaking in my head. It really drives me crazy.

See, I never understood that. And I don't even read American comics, but it baffles me.

Right? I mean, maybe it's because I read books instead of comics as a kid, but the way the dialog is written out in American comics seriously gives me a headache.

It's just so awkward. And I'm used to reading scans! How is it possible that scans that have been translated from Japanese-to-Chinese-to-English manage to sound better in my head than 100% American/English comics?

People don't talk like that. No one should talk like that. -_-
