It's a raw, so I can only make the most basic of guesses about what's going on. I can understand maybe about 1 word in 20ish, and I'm afraid I'm counting 'sou desu ne' in that general level of comprehension. But hey, I'm good at context. ^_^
Yeah, so this stuff was definitely not in the manga. Either that or I completely missed a few crucial chapters. I kind of wish this storyline was in the manga, though; it fits and flows much better than the actual dream arc did.
Highlights!
Completely unnecessary wrist holding (squeee!).Watanuki really isn't hesitant to touch Doumeki, is he? Yeah, it's mostly in the spirit of violence, but I can ignore that.
Ame Warashi and Zashiki Warashi were cute together. ZW still blushes like mad at Watanuki. He's still unfailingly nice to her, yet still oblivious. Its kind of like his relationship with Himawari in complete reverse, now that I think about it.
I choose to read that pan down of Watanuki's soaked clothes as the audience following Doumeki's line of sight. What. It makes sense.
NAKED WATANUKI. I do not remember there being any naked Watanuki in the manga, no, I do not. And yet there he was. Naked. And I'm pretty sure Yuuko was being a perv on the phone, saying she was spying on him.
Then it got weird for a bit while Watanuki actually did something semi-magical with that compass/bird thing Haruka's note pointed them to. I really wish I knew more Japanese. /o\ I think it was something like the fox's tears/rain in the sun thing, where the first thing you hear is supposed to tell you your future? Or I'm making things up again, that's possible, too. Doumeki's name was thrown in there for some reason, I don't know why.
THEY FILMED THE DOUMEKI AND HIMAWARI SCENE. MY LOVE, IT IS LIKE A SUPERNOVA.
It was even better than it was in the manga, when Watanuki called her on not being able to go out and eat. There was a new scene of ugly smoke trailing behind Himawari, like her bad luck was leaving a path of badness behind her. But the best part?
THEY SHOWED DOUMEKI AND HIMAWARI HAVING A CONVERSATION AND BEING FRIENDS. And Himawari let the smiling act drop for a bit, showed her uncertainty and worry. She knows there'll be consequences to getting closer to Watanuki, you can see the smile falter, and then Doumeki says the word 'together' a lot and she finally cheers up for real. I love this OAD, I really do. *hugs*
Back to the plot- they basically rewrote the entire dream arc to make it about solving a mystery that Haruka left behind that eventually leads to Watanuki entering the dream world and being introduced to Sakura by Haruka, like in the manga. Differnt path, same end result. Hey, maybe that's hitsuzen.
And then the crossover part that was in Tsubasa. The graphics of Sakura floating down to Watanuki were really bad though. /o\

The conversation was basically the same from the manga, about how Sakura felt about what she did, about Syaoran, the comparison between Syaoran and Watanuki, the birthday thing. Then Jr and Cloney showed up.
(oh my god, she's his mother, too. i'm remembering the chess world now, so awkward.)
Weirdness happens, Syaoran says something important (mou hitori means other person, right?) and Watanuki ends up in the dream with Yuuko from the first part of the OAD. Pretty sure he's asking her about her own wish while he once again indulges in some random wrist grabbing. Whatever he says really shocks Yuuko. She hugs him and then he wakes up.
Turns out Watanuki fell asleep in the real world, so Doumeki got a blanket to cover him and was sitting there, waiting for him to wake up. And I really, really want to know what it is Doumeki says before he starts asking for food again. o_o
Overall, I think this was an improvement over the manga. Things actually made sense this time around. ^_^ And it was much better than Tsubasa's OAD, imo.
And there's going to be another one!! *twirls*
