Idk, but I feel like there were a lot more TRC and Holic discussions going on in the fandom a few years ago.
I got into Holic through fic- it's pretty much my SOP- and I gobbled everything up for a few weeks. When I was done, I looked around and thought, 'Alright, where's the new stuff? Gimme!'
Only I didn't find any new stuff (at the time). It was very puzzling, especially since I had found all of these amazing gems earlier.
Then I finally looked at the dates when certain fics were written. 2005. 2006. A couple in 2007.
And you know, I get it. Four years is a long time to stick with one fandom (especially in anime/manga fandom, I've noticed) so it makes sense that people have moved on. But I still feel like there was this Golden Age for Holic and I missed it. By at least a year. And that makes me very sad. :(
On Merlin- I can't wait for them to use the word wizard. I know, that's a really weird thing to to want, but the Merlin in popular culture isn't known as a warlock, he's a magician/wizard. I think it would really show a difference between Uther's reign and Arthur's, just the word usage that could change. I'm not gonna lie, I kind of want one of the last scenes in the whole show to be of the newly crowned King Arthur appointing Merlin as a court wizard/magician. Or something. (I don't ask for much, do I?)
